“Elektrisches Pflichtjahr” – sound performance

Christina Kubisch (Berlin) is internationally known as a sound artist. After having done no live performances for over 20 years, she performed together with dancer Lotta Melin in Umea, Sweden in spring, 2003. Tiny sound modules, activated and steered by light waves, were the acoustic materials the two women played. “Electrisches Pflichtjahr” with Boris Hegenbart, in which Kubisch performs in Berlin for the first time in many years, is a continuation of this light-controlled live performance.

Boris Hegenbart (Berlin) works as a computer sound artist and founded [#/TAU], a project that links electronic and humanoid sounds, in 1996. For his sound pieces, which consist of loops with layered sound material, Hegenbart uses interviews and outdoor recordings, synthetically generated and atmospheric sounds, and other elements. In addition to performing improvised solo pieces, [#/TAU] frequently appears together with other artists.
